hazelnut-studded cinnamon ricotta scones

I’ve been reading and watching the news non-stop for the past 36 hours. Despite the frequent sirens right outside my window, it’s hard to believe that what I’m seeing on TV is happening here in Boston.

It’s no secret how I feel about this city – I love it.

If you’re a foodie who regularly roams the internet ogling at food porn, you’ve probably seen this recipe about 12 times over. Guess this post makes it the 13th time. So basically, consider this the universe’s way of telling you to make this bread.

But really, do it. It’s delicious. (No pressure.)

Every once in a while I make a dish that makes me go “OH. MY. GOD.” when I take my first bite.  Then I have a moment of silence.  Then I take another bite and repeat.  It’s more or less a religious experience.

These are one of those dishes.

Hello, hungry readers!  It’s been quite a while!

2012 has been pretty crazy for me so far… new classes, a decent amount of traveling, exploring summer opportunities.  Pure craziness.  In a good way, of course!

But despite being so busy, I’ve decided, as a sort of New Year’s resolution, to cut back on caffeine.  What what what am I thinking?  Not exactly a decision that is compatible with the college-freshman lifestyle.  (Ironic side note: I just drank a medium iced coffee from Au Bon Pain.  Oops.)

I used to be weird about sharing recipes. Really weird.

I suppose I can explain myself with two simple reasons:

a.) I never used to write my recipes down. I tend to be an “intuitive” cook and like to make decisions in the moment, rather than follow ones pre-made on paper.

b.) My pride for my “propriety” of a recipe was excessive.

My pride – for creativity and culinary “voice” – got in the way, for sure. That was the primary reason I kept my recipes, written out or not, under lock and key.
