I think I have a slight obsession with breakfast.

. . . Ok, so maybe it’s not so slight.  Allow me to rephrase.

I have a full-blown obsession with breakfast.  I do.  And I’m not afraid to admit to it.

A few weeks ago, my grandma spent the night at our house.  She took us out to dinner at this awesome restaurant, CoolFish, where we ate . . . and ate . . . and ate.  Honestly, I’m surprised I was able to stand up and walk out of there after the delicious (but incredibly filling) courses that I had.  It was insane.

(To be fair, I think I was also insane to think that I could eat: a slice of beat and goat cheese tarte tatin, ahi tuna over Asian style noodles, and a slice of Jack Daniel’s chocolate pecan pie and white chocolate gelato.  Yeah . . . my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach that night.)

As soon as we got home, we all passed out on the couch.  What a way to spend a Friday night.

Dear December,

Thank you for making it oh so chilly outside.

 . . . And inside.

You give me an excuse to drink hot chocolate on a regular basis, cover my bed in layers upon layers of blankets, and wear fuzzy socks. (Come on – you know you love your fuzzy socks too.)

You even give me an excuse to . . . sprinkle a heap of homemade granola on top of ice cream?

Deliciousness is worth the chill, my friends.

Over the past five or so months, I have learned an abundance about blogging.  Food blogging, in particular.  Shall I share a brief list with you?  Why not!

1.) As a new blogger, the majority of your readers are friends or family.  Really, this is not all that surprising.

2.) Blogging is addicting.  Fact.

3.) Your computer hard-drive becomes overloaded with pictures.

4.) The absurd quantity of pictures seems even more absurd when you consider the fact that the pictures are of food . . . and only food.

5.) Speaking of pictures, bigger isn’t always better.  I doubt you want to spend an hour waiting for all the pictures on a single blog post to load.  I sure don’t!

6.) Taste Spotting is very critical when accepting submissions.

7.) Dessert Stalking is not.

8.) Post titles should be straight-forward (unlike this list is turning out to be).

9.) There’s a lot of butter involved.  It’s dangerous.

10.) Exercise is recommended.
